When the world of work changes because the skills required for the business are different, what does a business do? Often the university systems do not keep up with the changing needs of a business; new college graduates lack required skills. Long-term employees may also need to be re-skilled. However, when times get tough, often the Training and Development department is the first to feel the cuts. So a business that was thriving, finds itself without the skillsets required to be successful.
Dr. Hughes will share a case study from a major multi-national corporation. This high-tech company has a substantial number of employees in Asia and around the world. It also has a clear corporate culture of training and development of its employees. The case study will share from personal experience how they trained and developed new employees as well as creating bench strength by developing leaders.
This will be an interactive session that will provide participants the opportunity to reflect on their own organization’s training processes and develop strategies that will improve the impact of training and development.
